Description
Leeks ‘Giant Carentan’ (Allium ampeloprasum) are a popular heirloom variety known for their long, thick, white shanks and mild, sweet onion-like flavour. Well-suited to the South African climate, they are harvested over a long season. ‘Giant Carentan’ leeks are incredibly versatile in the kitchen, excellent in soups (like classic potato and leek), stews, quiches, and braised dishes. Their milder flavour makes them suitable for more delicate preparations as well.
